What is the worst game on the PC Engine?

It's a fun tradition to hate on Deep Blue (because it IS crap), but there are far worse games (like any number of dull mahjong titles).

I mentioned Energy back on page one of this thread. To really see how crappy it is you have to see a video or play it yourself. Even so, as bad as it is, its still better than Fantastic Four on PS1 or Superman 64.

Energy is a decent game.   Yeah it's kinda gimpy, but its at least got some charm.   The scenery/setting is pretty cool, and while the controls do suck a fat one, its still alright.

It kind of reminds me of what'd happen if a Commodore 64 programming team got ahold of a PCE....

Deep Blue, Double Dungeons, Magical Dinosaur Tour, and Falcon are all pretty bad but the champion of the worst ever TG-16 game I ever played goes to the horrofic 3D mess Gunboat.

Agreed.  Golden Axe on PCE is proof that you can turn gems into turds.

Falcon and Gunboat get my vote. They are both boring and have horrible game play.

He's entitled to his opinion. If you have his vol 2 DVD check out his commentary for Deep Blue for further reasons why he dislikes the game.

When we start pointing fingers at people just because they share their negative opinions openly, and give justifications for said opinions, then we should be ashamed. I am not saying that we can't disagree with him. Just don't write the guy off just because he views a game differently.

Sunteam doesn't really care for A Link to the Past. I think it's one of the greatest adventures one can have in front of a TV. But, I am not going to smack him in the back of the head and ask, "What the hell is wrong with you?!?" I respect his views.

Hence the roll eyes icon i've seen the comments here on how to play DB.Though i wouldn't bother not my idea of a 'good time for a shoot'em up.If people enjoy it more power to them far as taste go's.Heck i've,seen how people like spida1a and sunteam rate shockman while it has it's flaws i enjoy the game regardless.

Btw i'd link that deep blue review in a joking manner to see what the reponse would be.

Far from being "completist" I'm only snapping up games that I like on the PCE.  I was lucky enough to actually start with some smashing games with my PCE GT, but I tend to so a bit of research now, so I should avoid really bad games.

The games in my collection that I would probably avoid playing are...

I guess The Kung Fu.  Which is understandable, because it's more of a tech demo.  First game I ever bought (chose) along with Street Fighter II.  Based purely on the cover, and the fact that it was called "Drunken Master" by the shop.
and maybe Hany on the Road (also bought based on the cover) which I'm not a huge fan of.
