Hence the "with a mod" -- My point is that I am trying to stick to just using unmodded hardware that you can connect directly between components.
We discussed earlier if the LT-to-SCD2 adapter could be hooked up to the IFU-30. Once it was determined that it would need a physical modification, I nixed it from the poster.
Yes, some of my setups are silly (psycho's briefcase for instance), but it helps illustrate how much thought NEC put into the expandability of the PC-Engine and the multitude of system configurations that the consumer had.
Accessories are another story for the poster. I want to make sure that all released hardware is listed, but photos are only included for systems and for devices that allow the system to be expanded to add CD-Rom2 capability. There are so many possible iterations with the other accessories included, that the poster would need to be a book. In addition, finding photos of all the possible setups is not really practical.
If a setup listed in this thread doesn't make it to the top post, then it doesn't follow these rules.
My point of posting something like the "Stairway To Heaven" was that some evil genius probably could mod the interface and saw the "dome" off the PCE to possibly pull off making that combo work. Hopefully if someone ever does, they know what they are doing well enough to not screw up perfectly good hardware just to see.
2 great examples of modded hardware that isn't included:
and of course the Region Modded options are now available as well.
There is one exception to this rule that I may decide to add in before final printing. We'll have to wait and see if it does.
