I saw that movie in theaters forever ago.  I was pretty bored throughout the whole thing until the ending when they spent a million dollars traveling around the US beating up people who posted shit on the internet.  At that point I decided the movie was brilliant.

For real? That movie rocked! Up there with Dude, Where's My Car if you ask me.

I too, saw the movie in theaters and thought it was great. Actually, an old couple got up and walked out after like the first 10 mins. That alone was worth the price of admission.

Anyways, back on topic. High prices, gouging, ugh.

Pretty much everything Kevin Smith did since the first Clerks was brilliant (of its kind).

...Jersey Girl?  Zack and Miri?  Zack and Miri in particular felt to me like a guy tried to recapture something he lost in his youth but couldn't quite remember what it was that he lost.

I missed these ones

I was making reference to Clerks I&II, Dogma, Mall rats, Red State, Jay&SB, even Top Cops ...

Yesterday night I started to watch Tusk, it was promising :D

I didn't think Jersey Girl was horrible...but it was his most "mainstream" movie (in terms of writing, he didn't stray too far), I reckon.

I am not the biggest fan of his POST-Chasing Amy films...they are really inconsistent.

I am glad a guy from Jersey has had some success and is able to voice his "voice" (at least, for some films). But he hasn't won my heart for 17+ years?

Clerks
Chasing Amy

Those are the only two things that hold up.

I love the *concept* of Dogma, but the execution was incredibly rough/inconsistent.

I didn't think Jersey Girl was horrible either. I liked George Carlin in it. But i could take or leave Affleck.

I agree that most stuff post-Chasing Amy is hit or miss. I still like it all to be honest, but i don't love it like i do Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Malrats.

Also, do you not like Malrats? Sure it was a flop, but i still like "Clerks in a mall".

Kevin Smith's original "Jersey Trilogy" is still three of my favorite comedies of all time, especially Clerks and Mallrats during my high school years.

But I definitely agree with Esteban here...

His post Chasing Amy work, Clerks II being kind of an exception, doesn't quite have that same level of intimacy and personal story telling behind it.

But I'll always love his original three films

Do you listen to Tell 'Em Steve Dave? It's my favorite podcast.

And if you guys haven't checked out Red State, you really should. Great film and very unlike anything Smith's ever done. And then there's Tusk... Holy f*ck... I still can't decide if I loved that movie or think it's completely idiotic. Either way, I enjoyed it.
Games I Need: Bonk 3 (HuCard), Legend of Hero Tonma, Magical Chase, Soldier Blade, Super Air Zonk.

I always watch Clerks when I need a dose of 90s nostalgia. Wrapping myself up in a blanket made of early-mid 90s grunge era is a fave pastime of mine.

I think Mall Rats is my favorite of his movies.  It was a dumb teen movie that I saw in a theater when I was a dumb teen.
