Its a nice complete set up, but nearly $600??

I wish I felt this was extreme, but this is the third one I've seen in the last 48 hours going for 600 shipped with the case in decent condition.  and I'm not sure it's that far out there considering . . .  :(  :(  :(   I mean a fair price seems to be 400 - 500 normally.

NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere.

I have to agree....sadly its not too far out of whack. The suitcase and turbo with dock and cd unit(presumably working) can go for 300+. Add in a turbo tap, more controllers, an oem power cord...manuals....yea between 400 and 500 isnt that unreasonable unfortunately.  I have that setup. I have a US system card 3.0 CIC as well. I cant believe how much the US version of that sells for. Its just too pricey.

I would love that set up, but with shipping and import taxes to the UK its well out of my price range.

Im looking for the CD dock/unit on its own, but it hardly appears on ebay these days.

Pretty much anything for the tg16/pc engine on ebay is gouging now days. Especially with Buyitnow. The only time one might find a good deal is if the listing is an auction started low. The only downfall with this is lots of time the auction will get up the the amount of the other gouging buyitnow sales because everyone starts to think that is the going rate for said game since that is all that is available. It's kind of crazy but in the last 2 months alone I've seen sellers raise the price of a game they sell by almost $10 every weak and I think they get away with it too because of the supply and demand. It artificially raises the going rate of said game when the supply is not there.

Pretty soon, the only way for anyone new getting into the system to be able to play any games will be to get a Turboeverdrive and a stack of CD-Rs. It's just sad because I really like helping others get into playing these systems and the lack of games on the market just can't match the interest being shown for it now.

There are some exceptions to the U.S. Game gouging because the market pretty much takes care of that itself. No one is going to pay more than say around $20 tops for keith courage, final lap twin, World Class Baseball, JJ and jeff, galaga 90, power golf, Aliens Crush, sonic spike, moto roader, Vigilante, Pac-land, Victory Run, Dragon Spirit, dungeon explorer, tricky kick, Side Arms, TV sports games... Basically the most common of the Turbo Hu card library.

Ugh.  For curiosity's sake I looked up ebay prices on a bunch of stuff that I haven't kept my eye on in years because I've got it already and I was shocked to see what the prices are up to.  My current favorite was this one: www.ebay.com/itm/NEC-TurboGrafx-16-Turbo-Duo-with-Super-CD-Working-bundled-with-25-games-/272857580445

Piecemeal, if you look at the high prices, I guess it adds up to roughly that much.  That said, if its sold in a lot if should run for less than the total.  Either way, that kind of pricing honestly seems ridiculous to me.

lol at the TG16 duffle bag that sold on eBay this morning for $200.

If you thought that was bad, there was a super shitty condition TG16 duffle bag that sold on Instagram (of all places) for $250! [-(

F*ck.

I wanted the duffle bag, watch, water bottle, wallet, etc. etc. etc.

I had the little pamphlet catalog as a kid and I remember thinking that $$$ will always go towards buying a new game.

NOW, however, I wish I bought this silly shite when it was cheap on ebay many moons ago.

I have never held a TG-16 water bottle, but I know that it will look great (and smell toxic).

"Knowing the value of the console I have only played it to test the games."  <-- does the value of a used system change simply from using it?

"I have briefly dusted console top with vinegar on a rag."  <-- good plan: further protect the system's value by wiping it down with acid.

Ahhhh yes, the pleasant 1990's fermentation of BPA.

You'll need all the hydration you can get after playing with the official TG16 frisbee
