On another note Simone offered to sell me Cotton for $120 and Dungeon Explorer II for $220, how much is he trying to gouge me?

IMO you're overpaying by $250. But realistically, finding DEII for less than $150 will be tricky. Cotton on the other hand could be found for less than $100. Of course, I am no expert. :)
Thanks, It seems like this stuff is never on ebay for me to get any kind of idea, there is a beat up Cotton up for $90, Its hard to come by stuff in nice condition w/out paying a premium, I remember when first got the duo I got a box of 12 common games sealed for a pretty far price now everyting is a high BIN or poor condition, I may still get one of the two I am going to think it over for the next day or two

Oh, I remember this thing...
The guy who was selling it originally (maybe the same guy now, I don't know) used to put a long backstory on why it was so rare....basically, he said that in Japan there was a limited edition of Darius that was being sold in certain game stores in very limited quantities. Then, if you were lucky enough to get a copy, you'd be entered into a raffle to win a super-rare, never-to-be-sold-in-stores game: Darius Alpha (or whatever it's called).

The game in the auction was ostensibly won in the ensuing raffle...that's why it says "Not for sale".

Of course, the story could be completely bogus.

I heard something along those lines as well, I don't follow this game but i think even for an expensive game he really marked it up.

PC Engine Rare Games - Darius Alpha

One of the rarest PC Engine games is Darius Alpha, to obtain this game in Japan you had to purchase the HU Card version and the CD ROM version of Darius Plus and then use the coupons provided. You were then entered into a competition and the 1st 800 names pulled out of a hat won the game Darius Alpha. In addition, some copies were handed out by magazines such as PC Engine Gekken and Marakatsu as prizes.

I have played the game on an emulator and basicaly it's just ALL boss battles one after an other.. so.. Darius plus without the levels and just boss's. (it is hard though)

Not really Turbo, but same subject matter

http://cgi.ebay.com/Nintendo-NES-StAdiUM-EvEnTs-NTSC-SEaLeD-VGA-75-NIB-NEW-/200581833218?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item2eb39be202

Stadium Events is rare in NTSC format for NES, This guy won an auction for like 23K (sealed copy I believe only two are confirmed to exist so far) and got the game graded by the VGA then re-listed it w/ a starting bid of 46K or a BIN of half a mil.

Naturally no one bid because if they wanted it for 46K they would have just bid 46K on the auction he won.  So he just re-listed the auction again at just a BIN of half a mil.

The gauging even happens among the ultra rich video game collectors, allthough I think part of this auction is him rubbing it in other collector's faces.

Super Darius has the same mode available through a code, but it includes all of its unique bosses. Darius Plus only has the arcade bosses. I'm assuming that Alpha only uses the arcade/Plus bosses.

Alpha is basically like the Special Version HuCards.

The other difference would be that Super Darius doesn't utilize the SuperGrafx hardware to eliminate flicker, whereas Darius Alpha does.

I really wish they made more hybrid HuCards for Supergrafx and Arcade card support for Super CDs. Well, quite a few games did use the Arcade card's extra ram actually. Really it just helped with more animations and less loading for cut scenes right?

"SCD Games that require the ACD Enhancement"

What a f*cking idiot.  Probably spent untold dollars on all this stuff and doesn't even know how his system works.
