Self-imposed gouging is always possible, but this thing is only at $200; it's more rare than Magical Chase, Dynastic Hero, Might & Magic III, and Bonk 3 CD combined, so it has quite a way to go before it qualifies.

People who try to sell stuff here for a prermium always seem to get ridiculed, but yet this guy always gets a free pass? Yeah, Thibaut bought the demo disk from some guy in Vegas..

For how much and how long ago?  I'm betting he paid closer to €600 than $200 for it.

But other than that, you should give someone on this forum the right of first refusal.

He offered it to the forum back in January.

I just looked up the thread where I had previously seen the info I was referring to. He actually got the demo disc from someone else, Im guessing sometime in 2008 per the youtube video that the original seller made for it. But who knows how much it sold for back then. (Reply# 27)

SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

actually if you want to talk about gouging you should look at his TG16 for sale thread he's listing this item at 600 euros! Also didn't he bought this item off of a forum member to begin with?

I don't think he gets a free pass per say since we are goofing on him now but I think the reason a lot of the members here aren't out right hostile to him like to someone like roy is because Thibaut does have great connections in Japan and he always seems to be able to get his hands on these crazy hard to find super rare shit like mint boxed LT and LT to SCD interface and even though he charges prices that maybe seem high to most of us these items always end up selling at the end because they are so rare to come by.  Also he actually is a full time game reseller so it's hard to fault on someone when it's his livelihood; he may charge more but his stuff are usually in top notch condition and he has a fairly extentsive inventory and even alot of sealed games so if if that's what you are into and you don't mind paying a little more he's probably a great guy to buy from and looking at his for sale thread he does have alot of satisfied customers so I think at the end of the day we would still prefer that he sticks around and offer us his wares.

Thibaut isn't ridiculed as a price gouger because his prices aren't ridiculously high like most auctions linked here (double the going rate or worse).  Plus, he doesn't go ballistic and try to convince us that he's giving us a steal when someone points out that his asking prices are high.

I'm seeing a LOT of gouging on ePay lately. The only Duo's I really see on there are going for $400 and up!

Well, that's about what my Duo/R ended up costing me after shipping my first PCE Duo back to HitJapan and then the second to somebody here in the States (both CD-ROMs died the first time I put a Drac X CDR in them).

They probably didn't die they just jammed because they couldn't read the CDrs.  These systems need to be running perfect to read CDRs and even then you need to use the highest quality CDrs.

Yeah, the guy I sent it to and traded for a region switched DUO/R had me walk through some steps to see if it was that simple.  The laser was just completely dead, and I literally did just load the disk once.  Both DUOs played my full production disks for over a week before I tried the Drac X CDR (worked fine in Magic Engine).  I ended up snagging Rondo for about $115 just so I could finally play it.  ;)

He bought it from Corey in an eBay auction for $1000 per Corey last time I talked to him.
All is well. :)

the auction ended at $809 so he ended up losing money on this item
