I know what's gonna happen to my houses cars and collection of collectables when I die. My kids are gonna keep what they want and more then likely sell off the rest and enjoy the fruits of my labor lol.

Ain't that the truth, lol. If I ever have kids, I sure hope they like video games, cuz yikes! I'm gunning hard for some pretty stupid stuff.

Yea, but I see a lot of picker and pawn shows where the "Kids" (now grown up) come in and take massive amounts of losses from the gouging dealers just so they can make up for their inability to manage their finances well.  It's a sad end to the fruits of one's labor...

It would take me hours to detail the amount of crazy picks I've made over the last two years. For whatever reason, people tend to forget about the valuable things they used to cherish. Just as a quick example, I picked up a 560~ game NES collection for $900 last year. A bunch of the games were complete, but the boxes were destroyed. Who knows, maybe some day I'll forget about this collection in my old age and some young punk like me will end up with it.

Yes and for MUCH less than $900 if negative circumstances in life take hold...

Sorry, that was poor wording. THAT collection of NES games is gone. Sold it for approximately $4,000. But my own personal collection, who knows where that baby will end up.

I tend to rely on God, Family, Wife, and Son to give me happiness in the now rather than material things.  Don't get me wrong, I like video games (especially PCE/TG), but I can EASILY give it all up and not look back.  One of the reasons I even come here now is because of some of the frienships I've formed over the years...

I completely respect that and actually agree wholeheartedly with you. If I could own every single video game in the world, I would love to. However, I would never put a need, either of myself or my family, below any material goods. To be honest, I enjoy the hunt more than any other aspect of collecting. I could sell these TG-16 goodies the day I receive them and I would still feel proud that I at least owned them for a short while.

I live for the hunt, Garage sales, Estate Sales, Flea Markets, Bizars you name it. There is no feeling in the world you get when your walking by a booth or whatever and you see it.... Be it a controller or a Huey you get the sudden rush to dig thru everything on the table.

That and showing your kids what "that thing is" is what helps relive memories with any Turbo stuff fn and exciting.

Also I don't choose objects over my family. I spend time with my kids and wife then after they go to bed that's when its TURBO TIME.............

Yeah, even if it's something unspectacular, I still get pretty amped. I was at a local thrift shop recently browsing for some finds when I stumbled upon a copy of Nascar Racing: 2003 Season on the PC, which is a $50-$80 game depending on how many copies are listed on the bay. It was only a buck, so I was happy with the find. As I further browsed the pile of CD's, I saw a TG-16 case. I squinted to see the name, which read "Military Madness." I literally exclaimed, "f*ck yeah!" I was slightly embarrassed, but the reaction was natural, lol.

Sorry, that is a bit confusing. What I attempted to say was that I would never put material goods above an actual need. I wouldn't charge up a credit card or empty my coffers simply to buy something that would sit on a shelf. However, I like to treat myself to nice things when the time is right! This was one of those times. :-) I doubt many will care, but I'll update once the games arrive with images. I really am excited to add the games to my collection, for however long that may be. Next on the docket is a CIB copy of Super Star Soldier. I might have to put some of these up for grabs to nab a copy.

Methinks sealed collectors are a special breed of stupid:

Dead Moon for $250 (so far), Ys Book I & II for $199, Raiden for $500 (so far), Chew-Man-Fu for $350 (so far), Super Air Zonk for $590, Shockman for $490, Air Zonk for $390, Sidearms for $125, and Parasol Stars for $270.

Note the latter five all came from the same reseller twat, where I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were some bid shilling shenanigans going on.

Sealed collectors are definitely a whole different breed. Check out this Dragon Warrior III that ended recently. Wish I had that kinda money to toss around on a single game.
