There are some seriously tightly clenched sphincters in this thread. Relax folks, it's ebay.

No, we wont relax.  The title of this thread states exactly what it is about.  If you do not like it, get the hell out of it, and don't read it.

It's hard to relax about the thing that's f*ckin up the entire gaming market in general and causing jackoffs to treat gaming as "business".

ebay is not a price guide. just laugh people out of the building when they reference BIN listings that have sat for years.

I understand what you are trying to say here, but this is still a bad comparison.  A coffee at Tim Horton's costs $1.40.  A coffee at Starbucks is $1.90.  It's a difference of .50 cents.  Now if Starbucks sold a basic coffee at $190 dollars then you would have a case.

Bitching about gougers from here on the sidelines is fun, and it's even more fun to drive them out of the forums, but going into the wolf's den and arguing with them on ebay is a waste of time. We can't even talk sense into gougers when they come here trying to buddy up and it's twenty against one.

Agreed. If gougers are the pimps, impatient collectors are the johns. I wouldn't mind seeing a separate "collecting much?" thread.

The idiots who buy from eBay simply don't know any better.

There are lots of honest retards that just go on ebay to buy/sell, and don't realize what they're doing.

The average person is a jackass.

We continue to get people from each new wave of members who try to educate us about how all Turbo games are super expensive and how we are simply lying about fantasies that we wish were true. This thread documents proof of actual value as much as it details the extent that sone people go to to manipulate the market. Someone who took advantage of the good will of other members went so far as to delete the original thread to cover his tracks.

Just like with any discussion, if it doesn't interest you, no one is forcing you to participate. This thread is a more useful price guide than anything else online and is priceless for those who don't have a feel for what to expect to pay for anything.

I picked up new adventure island (Hu only) on eBay and there was a sticker on the back that said "Buy it now - $129.95"

No, that's not near what I paid ($14.50), but they previously tried...

I'm guessing that the games that come with these lots do not included Dynastic Hero, Beyond Shadowgate, Super Air Zonk, Godzilla, etc. In which case, the Turbo-CD lot is likely only worth as much as $150 and the TurboDuo lot as much as $250.

I would say the Turbo CD lot is worth around $200-$230 just because it's including some games.
