Message sent.

same here.  I sent a message during the first auction that took 3 days before I got a response.

My guess is they pulled the ol' "second chance offer" with the second highest bid.  Bet it was some sob story that the winning bidder backed out and now the second highest bidder is the one that LUCKED OUT!!

Go to hell dickhead.

A little Tom-Foolery going on here?

The auction initially (the first auction) had a "buy it now" of $945, I know because I knocked it off with the minimum bid of $700.
All is well. :)

Dont take this the wrong way, but im just curious, why would you do that?
Somebody might have been happy to pay the 945 for that lot.  I wouldnt personally, but in todays market, it wasnt a total "gouge"
Or were you actually interested in it?

His response: "The last auction was done by a friend but the winner of that auction reneged on his bid. I decided to auction the package myself. I am the original owner of the entire package."

Meh, it might be true.  I'm sure it'll end much too high anyway.

But the whole "reneg" thing makes me question it.  Have you ever "accidentally" put a $1300 bid on some niche product and then said "oops, nah, not gonna pay for it"?
Especially when that bid was in the last 10 seconds.  I watched that one end at the time.
Im calling foul on that.

I've never done it, but there's no shortage of non-paying, time waster, changed-my-mind-because-I'm-over-my-credit-limit dipshits.

I guess people could do it to inflate value on thier own stuff too.
"Look what the last one sold for!!!  Mine has to be worth 20% more now!"

There are things that I could have used in the lot.  There's been Turbo games in the past that I bid on that I ended up winning for .99 + free shipping.  Granted it's a longshot that it would sell that low but it does happen once in a blue moon.
All is well. :)

ebay should do like YJA does with a BIN price where you can still buy it at the BIN price even after there is a bid on it under the BIN price.

[Mon 16:27] <BlueBMW> i wouldnt sell an unmolested duo hehe.  I molest the crap outta of em before they leave me

I agree, and it always annoyed me that the BIN option goes away once someone places a bid.

I've had to use second (and third) chance offers on expensive items I'm selling so many times because of some dipshit suddenly saying "something came up and I can't afford it." f*cking a$$holes - if you're living hand to mouth you shouldn't be shopping for $1000+ items on eBay in any circumstance.

I've sent some really nasty responses to people like that, but for whatever reason I'm never able to leave negative feedback for them if someone grabs my second chance offer. Drives me nuts.
