What on earth do we have going on here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Grafx-CD-16-Bundle-Vasteel-Dungeon-Explorer-Sim-Earth-The-Living-/191065220282?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item2c7c5fe4ba

Maybe not gouging, but maybe an issue with bidding nowadays...

No.

When you have something and you don't know what it's worth, you set the price prohibitively high, sit back and take some offers.

This guy's already declined a few of them.  It wouldn't surprise me if he's actually expecting to get close to that number.  I saw a Cadash box I was keeping an eye on go for over $70, so...

Not that he only bid but bid twice.  Which means he bid the first time and then UPPED his max bid. Hense 2 bids on it from the same bidder.
All is well. :)

Definitely a gouge job on the GoT, as are all the other games he's selling (some worse than others).

The PAL TurboGrafx ships a loose TurboChip in the box, but selling that along with the photocopy manual as brand new/complete is also misleading.

You sure?  There's a spot in the case for a complete jewel case and the guys selling 'em on eBay also have a bajillion "like new" complete unboxed copies of Blazing Lazers, so I assumed they belonged together.

Necro is correct

i can confirm my PAL model came with blazing lazers in case

From everything I've read over the past 15 years, distributers had stacks of oem games, but there was no single definitive title packed in at the packaging stage. Which is why the box doesn't mention any specific pack-in software.

geez, my buddy (bishopcruz on here) was warning me about how bad this scene's become on ebay currently, fortunately i'm down to mostly common wants like Legendary Axe.  even stuff i was morbidly curious about like Fighting Street jumped up, shit's crazy.

I saw a Cadash box I was keeping an eye on go for over $70, so...

one day i'm gonna catch your box fetishism and it's gonna end up worse than my student loans

You just need to learn how to search sites like eBay and exercise some patience. Fighting Street is still cheap on eBay.

Many common $20 Genesis and SNES games have listings on eBay for hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Anyone can ask anything for any game, but it doesn't reflect what they're actually selling for.

Bleh, it looks like I picked a really bad time to jump into the Turbo scene.  #-o

Ah well, hopefully some of the more uncommon titles will come back down to a reasonable level down the road... even with my OCD, I couldn't justify the current asking prices for Dragon Slayer, Beyond Shadowgate, and Dungeon Explorer II.

At least there are a lot of good common titles that can still be picked up on the cheap, plus a ton of great PCE stuff!
