Apparently $500 for a half-complete copy is the new going rate for Beyond Shadowgate?  Yeesh.

Too often the collectors with the most to spend aren't familiar with the games or library in general and overpay (by CIB standards) for what they believe are completely complete games. Then they inflate prices further by getting suckered into paying the price of a functionally complete game just for a missing piece of paper or cardboard, after they eventually figure out that their game can be more "complete".

This leads to sellers selling games in pieces, which creates the illusion that CIB copies of games are ultra rare. Which artificially inflates prices for complete games as well as their individual pieces. There's a seller on eBay right now with listings for manuals for all the rare CD games.

He's the guy showing all the manuals in 1 picture, but selling them seperately?
I wondered what he was up to with that and what had happened to the games/boxes.
Strange.

He started it at 200. I'm surprised it got bid up that high.
Personally, I have no problems with this seller.  :D

Someone on Sega-16 started a thread about this recently. They bought Rayman for Jaguar off of Digitpress and then the manual on eBay and it turned out to be the same seller.

Im so glad most of the games i want for consoles are common, and don't go for that much.

Ah yeah, I guess that isn't really "gouging"--but this seems like the de facto thread for discussing high prices.  Obviously you have no problem with the Dynastic Hero he sold you for $150 ;)
I'm not sorry about this, as I'm not sorry about ANY attack by the goverrats.

Small hole(s) in the shrink wrap to let the air out when it was sealed.
All my games have massive vent holes.  It's funny how much they breathe when you remove the cellophane completely.  :)

This one sells the same lot 3 times. Just moved the boxes around so that it would look different on first view:

That same seller has been selling shitloads of sealed games over the last year.  If i recall correctly, he keeps making new usernames (his feedback on the last account or 2 started to slip), so he makes a new one and starts over.  Wish I could recall his old usernames. Also, they are the same games but one auction lists Blazing Lazers as opened and NOT sealed.
All is well. :)

So is he selling those 9 games, getting the money, then not sending it out?  They're not super rare, but 9 sealed games for $11 each doesn't seem a terribly bad deal to me...

You mean apart from paying a fortune for shipping from Venezuela, import taxes and waiting 8+ weeks to reach you?
