Nebulously I'd really like to own Tonma.  I don't think I will as the price is ridiculous at this point.

I personally enjoy the game (Tonma), but I agree that the price seems to keep going up...  :(

I'm wasn't about ready to blow $150 on a game I won't play

Why are you mad that your lowball backfired if you weren't even going to play the game in the first place?  I don't get it.
I'm not sorry about this, as I'm not sorry about ANY attack by the goverrats.

It was more or less for my wife after watching the gamesack episode last Sunday and what I offered him wasn't exactly lowball to begin with...

Something similar happened to me one time.  I was at a used game store and the guy there had a bunch of games, one of which was strider.  Dude wanted $15 for it, I thought that was pretty cool.  It was under the counter and I said "I'd like Strider."

"We don't have it."

"Yes you do, its that one right there"

Well, there's no English on the cover so the store owner didn't even know what the game was.  The guy said "Oh, that's strider?"  Goes to his computer, checks ebay, then says "Sorry, it was mislabeled.   That'll be $99.99"

Seriously though, Tonma for $150?  Should've just taken that.  Still not super cheap but waaaaay cheaper than you'll ever find on ebay.

similar situation here.  there is a flea market that i frequent and one of the vid game goons wont price ANYTHING until you ask for it..then its off to ebay for sold listings.  then he asks the highest price but minus the shipping.  what a deal!

Bought a copy of Popful Mail on Sega CD from a local shop complete in really good shape for $90. After the purchase, I was talking with the owner, who started asking questions about it since it had been sitting in his shop for quite some time, didn't really know what it goes for now. He looked on ebay and gave me a dirty look. He said that since I've been shopping there for years that he didn't hate me, that much. lol

Just checked the price on Popful Mail.  I'm honestly shocked it's that expensive.  Iirc, I paid $25 for it used back in 1999 or so.

Honestly, yeah the guy is kind of a f*ckhead, but there are other shops around me that would just look up the game before I buy it and adjust "accordingly," so it's whatev. This is the same guy who let take all of the Keith and shitty sports title Turbo cases for $2 a piece, so I'll continue to stop by his business. :3

Funny thing Hailing, I took a 45 min one way trip to a store in Mass a few months back to pick up a few games he had. Got some master system games pretty decent price. Started looking at his turbo stuff and he only had a few with prices, saw lords of the rising sun, an ok game, no price, I ask the guy what are you getting for it. Whats he do? pulls out the friggin laptop and looks it up, then says i'll give ya the mid range price........DOUCHE BAG. but I wanted to play it and have it for my system so I paid. Don't recall how much but it didn't break the bank.

That's what my local store, Pixels and Pawns, does... for common games on the floor they sell it to you for label. Anything in the glass case... turbo, Sega CD, and nes/Genesis semi rare/rare... they look it up on price charting and Quote a price. Can you say BULLSHIT!
