I know I always seem to pay more than anyone here thinks is even a fair deal it seems. Makes me wonder if I'm looking in all the wrong places or if people just don't pay attention to the going rates on stuff.

I wouldn't have paid that amount for that lot (I like building a collection anyway) but I didn't go "OMG THE HORRAH" either. I just kind of shrugged--there's way worse out there.

All things considered, that deal would save the buyer a good deal of money assuming he was going to buy everything there piecemeal.  Cotton goes for up to $400  alone.  Vasteel and Lords of Thunder for around $100.  3 games not even including the system and those three individually sell for over a third of the total price.

It sucks, but that's TG16 in the year of our lord 2015.

RARE!!! MINT!!!

Jesus f*cking christ... I can't believe some sucker actually f*cking paid $1560 for this lot.  These instant collectards are f*cking driving up prices on anything and everything. When will the madness stop?

I'm going to put a dog turd on ebay and list it as RARE and MINT just to see if it'll break 4-figures too...

What a chump.

Are you f*cking kidding? lol... man... let's break it down with rough ebay price estimates. I'm pulling these out of my ass based on what i've seen actually sell, but feel free to revise as needed. And i'm not even going to touch teh PCE stuff or anything that sells for less than $100.

$600 - CIB Turbo Duo megaminty (with cd issues that could be fixed for <$100)
$200 - CIB TG16
$250 - CIB TurboBrewster+
$100 - 2x CIB TurboSticks
$350 - CIB Soldier Blade
$150 - CIB Aero Blasters
$150 - CIB Super Star Soldier
$150 - CIB Somer Assault
$150 - CIB Air Zonk
$150 - CIB Raiden
$125 - Vasteel
$100 - Lords of Thunder
$100 - CIB Last Alert
$500 - MOTHERf*ckING COTTON!

My math skills indicate this already clears $3000.  There's probably another 1-2k that could be had from the rest of the lot.

Ha! No I wasn't, and I'm certainly not questioning how you value them either.

I wouldn't have paid that for multiple reasons (I don't care for boxes being a big one, so I don't pay anything for them among and have very little knowledge of their addition to the value) so I didn't even really get into valuing it other than a quick eyeball test on the hardware. I thought you were honestly complaining. I know I should expect an 11 on the 10 point sarcasm scale here--I do know better.

(I don't collect the CD stuff so my knowledge there is probably pretty bad as well. That doesn't help)

I wish I would've seen that auction so I could buy it, separate everything out for resale, and get rich off of nully's BIN prices.

You can't put a price on a quick/easy collection that took no amount of research beforehand. Pure win.

...dicks.

All right since I obviously can't tell who is being facetious for shit, I'll ask: Are those easy sells at those prices? I only pay attention to CIC, not CIBs so I have no clue.

If so thank goodness for my wallet I don't care about boxes.

I was being sarcastic.  I've no doubt that the bundle could easily be parted out for more than $1500, even at fair prices (well under cheapest completed auction prices) to forum friends, yet some of the prices null posted are high even by eBay standards; case in point - the last three non-BIN Cottons sold for ~$250, and the last two BIN copies sold for $400.

Not only was I being sarcastic, but that was my passive aggressive way of telling Null to f*ck off and go troll some other thread.

Blah, blah, blah.  If this thread bothers you so much, why do you keep coming back?

Does this guy think by already loading Magical Chase and Bonk 3 that it will increase the price of an everdrive by 100%?  :-k

After 3 years of being absent, an observation.

I'm absolutely f*cking disgusted with the prices of games on eBay, and the sellers that are fueling it.

Stateside, It seems that every seller on eBay has taken the "$3000" Magical Chase debacle that we so sorely watched unfold and applied it to EVERYTHING TURBO. Copies of Bonk's Adventure and Keith Courage are going for $20-$30. People are paying it? Wow.

On a side note at least its endlessly entertaining to see n00B gougers come to this thread and try and e-lawyer everyone.

I saw MUSHA for the Genesis go for $315 on Ebay yesterday.... pretty insane.  IF Musha is that much, Spriggan on PCE will be a matter of time before it explodes...

looks like there is general inflation across all collectible video games since 2009 for sure.  Not just States-side.. even Y! Auction prices are inflated at JP these days.

I was mainly reacting to seeing Syd Mead's Terraforming for $1000, and Air Zonk for $650. The Genesis inflation is surprising, but I think you're projection s will be right.

..Speaking to a friend who is a Video Game programmer, I brought this topic up, and he credited the tangibility of retrogames, and how everything now is completely online. Looking at MMO environment games or iPhone games, hey cited the interface aspect of current games and apps: that once the servers go offline the game doesn't exist anymore. If you have a turbo or a Genesis, you own the game, and thus, you can play it "off the grid". He's unsurprised.

Apparently its hip to own a copy of Sonic The Hedgehog.
