The most I ever paid was when Phantasy Star 4 came out at the local Electronics Boutique for $90. I had that game day one.

You probably couldn't have picked a better game to drop 90 bucks on at the time.  PS IV was incredible!  Imagine being one of the poor fools who picked up some lame N64 game for 90 bucks when it came out?  Superman 64 anyone?
Imagine paying $200 for Legend of Success Joe for the Neo Geo. That would have sucked indeedy.

Do you mean MVS? The AES version has some erratic inflation due to ignorant collectards overpaying for it because the MVS version skyrocketed. But the AES version still sells for $50 CIB at the same time.

I thought the AES version inflated to insanity recently?

Not that I have seen Magician Lord MVS is much higher for a MVS cart than an AES Cart.

Some sell or are made to appear to sell for stupid prices, but there are at least as many selling for half as much in comparable completeness. It's just collectards mistakingly paying too much for the wrong version, like when common PCE games get inflated due to a Turbo version becoming sought after. Once the MVS version became sought after, the supply was still very slim. So it was often hard to find a copy for sale at any price. Meanwhile, plenty of AES versions were available everywhere all along.

+1, i used a $100 EB gift certificate and barely had enough change to get the bus back home.  worse yet, it was my first genesis game with a cardboard box (and vajello art, ugh) and b&w manual!  still, one of my top 10 JRPG's to date, really can't complain looking back.

This is CRAZY!!!  It's a $20-$40 AES game tops and I wouldn't pay more than $50 for MVS.  It's a common game just the collectards blowing up the price.

How do these look with the system in it anyways?  And I noticed that it's not even featured in the "Turbo Gear" catalog...

It's easy to find all kinds of neon orange items and print up TG-16 tags for them.
