Is "repro" the magic word for dodging the dreaded bootleg label?
It's inevitable you get synonyms in a language, but yeah, it is much like how "file pirating" was softened to "file sharing" early on in the Napster days and before. The music industry didn't see it that way and neither did it appreciate the particular arrogant trolling by one of the founders...
Anyway, I use both terms, together usually, and it is legit in the context of say being used to describe fan reprinted manuals (like what sparky does), boxes, CD labels, etc. It's all technically unlicensed and falls under being labeled many things: fake, counterfeit, bootleg, reproduction, etc.
