Tricky Kick, hmm is that part of or the beginning of the Kick series of games in the PC Engine universe?

ya know-
Tricky Kick, KickBall, and then of course Chip Chan Kick on the PCFX!

lol- chip chan was some pretty great strategy.  Its too bad more of that happiness wasn't on the PCFX to really show off what it could do.

so this would fix everything?

Coming from a programmer of puzzle games you should know ;)

Yes, I should know that buster bros, etc. arent puzzle games.

There is a reason bubble bobble spawned a series called Puzzle Bobble.

BECAUSE BUBBLE BOBBLE WASN'T A PUZZLE GAME.

its an action game.

That was sarcasm, you've proven that you don't know whit.  Bubble Bobble was a strategy/puzzle game.  Action game?  Action?  Like Contra?

Next your gonna pull some shit saying Alice in Chains was alternative rock.

:D

your wit is buried in a sea of confusion.  I can't help that.

There is no puzzle in bubble bobble.  Every level is the same thing with different platforms to hop on.

If contra was single screen but the same kind of game (shoot aliens) it could be called ALIEN BOBBLE.

what about single screen action games, like Yars revenge, Berzerk, space invaders?  ARE THEY STRATEGERY TOO?

or some shit.

long story short, Wikipedia is wrong and anyone who trusts it 100% is a fool that can't think for themselves.

f*ck conventions.  I win.

STRATEGERY

Thanks, Will.  I needed a good chuckle.

Wikipedia is wrong

Indeed; PCECP, PCE Daisakusen!!, and the PC Engine Bible say Buster Bros. is an action game, so why believe a wiki page, especially when the page specifically for Buster Bros. makes no mention of the word 'puzzle'?

Ok then it's a strategy/Action?

That would indeed be awesome.  And a killer title :)

Yes they are.  I didn't say I trusted it 100% Ark, that is a pretty random statement.

f*ck conventions.  I win.

Yes you did.

lol, its pretty much an age old question.  Regarding what actually defines a "puzzle" or strategy or action game.

Couldn't Tetris be considered an action game?  I'm making an action moving the pieces from the left to right.

I've never really put much focus on classifying puzzle or strategy games.  I've always just stashed them together in my collections..lol

the primary focus of tetris is the puzzle/thinking element.

if you focus on just the action and slam pieces around like a tard, you'll never see the St. Basil's cathedral take flight at the end.

Back on topic: I love Tricky Kick, but I'm stuck about halfway through. I play it in bursts and I usually can take out 5 boards or so in a sitting.

The first two boards were probably the hardest... Not because they're actually all that hard, but because it takes those two levels to finally figure out how to "think" to be successful in the game.

I'm sad to say I've never even played it.

I just watched Starsoldier1's YouTube review (which is hilarious, thanks to him) and the game looks Japanese. Does it have a PC Engine releases, and if so, what's the name?
