Now that I have your attention, I happened to stumble onto something interesting.  Don't know if anybody has heard, but Cinemaware (TV Sports series, Defender of the Crown, It Came from the Desert) has made a large portion of their old games available for download for free.  I remember them putting the Amiga versions online a few years back, but now they've posted much more.

This also includes roms for both PCs and consoles.  I already downloaded TV Sports Football and Basketball, but there's no TG16 version of It Came From the Desert or the other CD based Cinemaware games.  I wonder if they would release an iso?

I doubt Cinemaware would distribute It Came from the Desert since, apart from the original license, they had nothing to do with the TurboGrafx version (which was made by IPIX).

Yes, CinemaWare put a lot of work into documenting their old catalog and sharing it... it's a shame they didn't survive longer...

Unfortunately, Cinemaware (the rebirth) is defunct, and has been for a long time:

as far as CINEMAWARE... in the early 90's they declared bankruptcy (i think) and went out of business (i think). Lo and behold, at some point they became a viable company again because they are alive and kicking now (check out their  wonderful website).

Go to the vault to see It Came from the Desert, TV Sports series (hey, there was a BOXING game), Lords of the Rising Sun, etc.

When I was writing up commentary for the TurboPlay Archives, I was curious about TV Sports Baseball (completed, or nearly, but never released for TG-16) and the series in general (TV Sports BOXING). I was amazed that cinemaware had come back from the dead, and even more amazed that they took the time to document their back catalogue so nicely. I was hoping they would update the "vault" more frequently... but it's been several months (6 or so) since I've been there and still no new updates...

and, after scouring the site for the last few minutes, it appears that Cinemaware has died once again. In mid-1993 everything stopped (news posts, message boards, game announcements, etc.)

That stinks, I was really excited when I found the forums... some of the posts indicate that there was an active community of folks discussing the old Cinemaware games. One dude even wrote a "eulogy" of sorts. Others were lamenting the fact that we wouldn't see updated versions of many classic titles (It came from the Desert, for example).

Yeah they did the new versions of Defender of the the Crown on Xbox and PS2, and I believe there was GBA port also.  I don't think they sold very well though since they all went bargain bin pretty fast, it's a shame the company went under before they could put out something really awesome.
