Compile makes some kickass shooters.  Aleste 2 was awesome

Kaneko/Inter State = Aero Blasters + Nexzr

Aero Blasters + Nexzr = Winz

Kaneko/Interstate=Aero Blasters + Nexzr + Super Star Soldier + Star Parodia

Kaneko/Interstate never fails. Kaneko/Interstate rules.

Aero Blasters + Mathius + Clear Attempt = Fail :(

Hahahah, practice my friend, practice. That game was tough when it went into highspeed mode though...

I've been holding off on getting SSS for a while because of the lackluster reviews here.

personally I think Super Star Soldier is excellent, its got a great difficulty curve to it.

I also really like Final Soldier the only problem its just too easy.
I have a similar view. I found the graphics, difficulty, and weaponry in Final Soldier disappointing, especially compared to SSS.

The graphics in FS do not seem to have the same sharpness and clarity to them. I cleared it on my first real sit down with it. The weapons, particularly the flame weapon, weren't as cool (aesthetically pleasing) as SSS. The unorthodox flame weapon in SSS was a blast to use, especially when combined with a sweeping flight pattern to take advantage of the flame's movement pattern. It was nerfed in FS. If I remember correctly there is one power level where the flame always shoots straight ahead (lame), and at higher levels it moves too fast to be fun to use.

Honestly, Final Soldier looks like it was given to an art team of Hudson beginners as a practice project.  Compared to SSS (Kaneko, I know) and even other Hudson projects, FS has a surfeit of pillow shading and bland designs.

I have to agree. I picked up Final Soldier for Jboy during the Secret Santa of 2008 and I popped it in when it arrived at my place. My first impression of the graphics was that it was bland. I didn't play enough of it to get a real good idea of how the gameplay was, but it seemed pretty standard to other Hudson shooties.

There is only one stage in FS I would consider "bland," but that's just me.
