I'm curious what a plastic box is going to protect a game from, exactly. Floods, pestilence, theft, lightning strikes, fire and earthquakes have just as good a chance of damaging a game regardless of whether or not it's in a plastic case. Unless the case is made of titanium or diamond and is waterproof/airtight I don't really see the point.

Seriously?  Sure floods, fires etc maybe an overstatement, but what about kids getting into a cupboard and getting their paws over it and crushing it.  C'mon there are plenty of things that could damage the box/game.  and yes a strong plastic case is going to help during an earthquake, trust me i know from experience.. A bit of protection is all im after.

The last couple lots of those I have seen went for close to $2/sleeve shipped.  Goat store sells for $1/sleeve + shipping, but they are dirty sleeves that you need to clean.
It's probably cheaper to find a lot with a bunch of cheap games and go that route unless there are other places to get real sleeves.
I've purchased real sleeves myself, but they have always been dirty (retr0bright works great) and some come torn or written on.
There may be other suppliers of official sleeves, I haven't seen them though.
Wanted:
Bootleg Hucards (Hong Kong, China)
Third Party Hardware (US, Japan, China, Europe, Korea)
Canadian Boxes and Manuals (French text)
Ton's of Trades available - just PM me.

I bought a pack of 10 sleeves a couple years ago and they were brand spanking new. They even had that new plastic smell.

Exactly, nat.  Plastic boxes would be nice if I had little kids running around, though putting 'em on a higher shelf would be better (perhaps do both); I've yet to meet a rug monkey that didn't try to pry open anything and everything they get their mitts on.

Anywho, have you guys checked with VGA?  I'm pretty sure they sell their cases separately, though I suspect they'd charge waaaaay too much for 'em.  Perhaps you could buy just one, find out who made 'em, and then buy in bulk direct.

I keep mine in diamond protected cases. I should actually be MORE careful, mine sit on a stand next to the TV I play on. Had a small water spill on my DE2 manual once,, minor damage and I don't plan to sell it but if I was to sell it I'm sure I wouldn't get what I would have due to the small water stain and slight wrinkle of the pages.

I have tried the single baseball card sleeves and the pages that go in the binder. I wasn't really happy with the way they fit compared to the originals TG16 sleeves. I would like to try other options though since I have a lot of loose hucards.

$3 shipped per sleeve on ebay.  http://cgi.ebay.com/TurboGrafx16-Hu-Card-TurboChip-Sleeves-VERY-RARE-/190469438825?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item2c58dcfd69

...for the same price you can get 100 of the CD Business Card Sleeves shipped USPS.

It's an alternative for those who may want it.

Those ones on Ebay he says are OEM which means "original equipment manufacturer" but they clearly don't look like original.  Right?

I like that book that hold business cards. I might try that! Great idea!

Exactly my thought.  MAYBE if it was in a waterproof case/firesafe it would have some sufficient protection...but a little plastic "case" not to much (especially those joke cases the "graders" use).  Display purposes are one thing, but "protection" here seems a bit optimistic.  I've got 3 kids of varying younger ages here, between "DON'T TOUCH MY STUFF", and higher shelves my games are safe ;)

i used to just stick them in casette cases if i didnt have cases for the games.

Its funny to open a shitty bruce springsteen tape and go f*ck YEAH, MILITARY MADNESS.

and pop it in.

but lately, i go the trading card sleeve route.  its pretty legit, and makes for a neat thing to flip through.

cant do it with NES games
