Just asking cause I have yet to acquire a Arcade card, so I tried it in Magic Engine using System Card 3.0 and it kept bombing out right after first stage character selection.

Are you using a real system card image?  The built in cards are flaky as hell.

I was pretty sure I was, I'll have to take a closer look when I get home tonight.

Is there such a thing as an Arcade Card image?

There are still plenty left for anyone still wanting these.   These are staying a pcenginefx exclusive for now.  I haven't mentioned them on any other gaming site.

The system cards can be found as ROM files, just like any game. I'm not familiar with the PC emulators since I stick to the real hardware, but I think you can just load it as any other rom, and then hit the Run button to start the CD.

In Magic Engine, you set the path to the system cards in its configuration file, which allows you to boot from more than one disc drive (logical or virtual).

Though on second thought, maybe there isn't a separate Arcade Card option, considering it's just additional memory and not a different bios.  If I was at home, I could check the configuration file, but I'm not.  :-k

The rom of an Arcade Card and the Super CDRom cards are the same. Arcade card just has additional vram. It is an on/off option in mednefan. In fact if you load the ver. 3 rom in mednafen it only loads the rom and thus you get a regular CDROM2 splash screen that is ver. 3.

f*ck that jive, I used to open System Card 3 like any other .pce, and then you push run, and it loads CDs :D

As long as you yknow, have one in a drive, or mounted up.

I do what Arkan says, and open up .pce for Syscard 3.  Stryder actuall works this way.  If I play Stryder with the built in MagicEngine system card it has glitches and is pretty much unplayble.  Didn't know this for a long time.

@nikdog
Thanks for the explanation.  I thought all this time when I loaded the SuperCD card image (with option for Arcade ram) it wasn't really quite the same as an Arcade card image.  I've never used a real Arcade card and thought it was a different version with possibly a different startup screen (cd player etc).  So good to know it is the same rom image as the v3.  Makes sense now that you explain it.
