Favorite Non-Shmup TG16 Games
« on: January 09, 2011, 01:06:55 AM »
I'm looking to add another TG16 game to my collection sometime this year and so far all I own are shooters. Lets hear some recommendations from other genres. What are your favorites?

Action Strategy- Vasteel
Platformer- Legendary Axe
Puzzle- Boxy Boy
Action RPG- Neutopia

Does it need to be TG16 or are PCE games fine too?
And what games do you already have?

Jackie Chan's Action KungFu ... laugh if you will, but it's a solid platformer and I love it!
Military Madness ... classic military strat. game that is pretty fun and has some great music.
Somer Assault ... a very different platformer that's unique.

If your looking for a solid Platformer Bonks Revenge, Legendary Axe, and Ninja Spirit(My favorite) are all cheap and lots of fun. But I'm a newer collector like you so that's all the good games I have that aren't shooters.

Neutopia for Zelda-like gameplay needs
Any Bonk game for your basic platforming/I-didn't-claw-my-way-to-the-top-of-the-food-chain-to-eat-like-a-rabbit needs
Cadash for your multi-character side-scrolling magic-flinging action RPG needs
Ys I & II for your top-down bump-killing action RPG needs
Parasol Stars for your cutesy two-player enemy-tossing needs
Exile II for your why-the-f*ck-is-this-game-kicking-my-ass-at-every-turn platforming RPG needs (or Exile for the lack of the why-the-f*ck-is-this-game-kicking-my-ass-at-every-turn part)

Surprised no one has mentioned Dragon's Curse.

Personally I also liked Legendary Axe II.

I was looking specifically for Hu card only games, but thanks for the vast amount of recommendations!! I've got tons of different games form a huge variety of genres to look into now.

Someone asked which games I already had. Right now I've only got Ordyne, Sidearms and Blazing Lazers. I've beaten all 3 of them and am looking for something else to sink my teeth into.
