PC Engine Duo R HELP
« on: January 17, 2011, 07:45:56 AM »
I just purchased a DUO R from a dude in Japan. The AC adapter that came with it is not an NEC product. I will put down what it has on it, right off the adapter.
SEGA AC Adaptor SA-190B
Input: 100v 50/60Hz  18VA
Output: 10v 850mA
Sega Enterprises, LTD.
There is no UL tag on this thing anywhere.
My question is this: If this does not work for me here in the U.S., what do i need to purchase? I heard you could get compatable AC adapters from Radioshack, but don't know which one i need to buy?
Please help me.

But he is in US, we have input of 120v. I have a Sega brick powering mine, but i had to reverse the polarity.

No matter what pretty sure you needed a different adapter anyways.

The small difference doesn't matter, as a tad more juice will just create a bit more heat at the power supply.

Oh, forgot to add that the polarity, i am pretty sure, is positive. Will this make a difference? Is there one i can buy at a RadioShack that is compatible?

is it a doujindance Duo-R? He sends those with Sega bricks sometimes. I just never used mine. Like Necro says it should work, but running a little hot was scary for me.

Mostly it will create a bit more heat at the DUOs 7805 voltage regulator.
