what relevance does the maker of the console have? it never caught on simply because it was crap and nobody liked the way it looked. this is of course not the reason turbo failed in the u.s.

I dont think many people complained about how it looked, maybe the controllers, but not the console. And yea it sucked but you suck too

More like NEC didn't under stand the U.S market.

Tons of games in japan... but they failed to release them here why?

Btw i still feel this way even today, for under rated systems.

I agree. The misunderstanding of the US market was clearly the factor in the failure of the TG. Just look at the games that could (should) have made it to the US shores Street Fighter II and Dracula X at the very least. Underrated machine. Same really goes for the Jaguar it was underrated and even more poorly marketed than the TG/Duo in all repsects. The Jaguar was with the Turbo was also ahead of its time. The Turbo came out when 8-bit was still the dominating force, so the competition for it wasn't really even there yet. Same with the Jaguar it was designed to be better than the 16-bit/early 32-bit systems. Which it could have done better than if the marketing had been right. So I just real feel sorry for what gamers lost due to poor marketing....

No the Jag had no games but it could have. It had decent potential that was wasted on a lot of lame 3D space shooters.

Dracula X not coming here was Konami's deal I believe.

Like most people that own a jaguar it is to play tempest 2000.
And maybe also Alien vs Predator.
The Jaguar with it's CD add on (wich i don't have as i believe there is no game worth having it) looks like a toilet.
don't be human... be peacefull

What's the most beautifully engineered console ever made?  The Dreamcast!  It just looks great, and has tons of power packed inside that small design.  :)  It's right up there with the PCE in terms of lots of power packed in a small size.

PCE+CD is my all time favorite design! NES rules in everyway too and I just love it's original design! Long live the NES.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

first of all, many of you are copying and pasting my comment about jaguar, and trying to make it sound like i said it about turbo gravx. if you bother to look at my posts i have said nothing but positive things about turbo gravx.

so far as the jaguar is concerned, unlike everyone else who posted on this thread, i really have no opnion on the jaguar except i don't like the site of it.

and for the person who continues to make insults, as if i've said something bad about his moma, i was not aware there are five year olds on this message board. just please, stop mentioning the jaguar, it just irks me when i see it.

I don't know what you're on about, but please at least try to spell the console name correctly, eh? Thanks. :D :D :D

are you literate? well, if you are and you read the thread, then you would understand. but it's all really inconsequential, anyways. so i can understand why you wouldn't understand the topic of this thread, considering the extent to which it is boring.

look down, how is that spelled? is it wrong?

Dude you crack me up bigtime. :D Thanks for the entertainment.

ADDENDUM: And btw...yes, it's wrong. There was no space between Turbo and Grafx. And in the USA, there was a 16 after the Grafx, with or without a hyphen (both ways are correct). :D

Thats  a joke...see how this place works....

Hey man if you check around these boards, you will see lots of shit, lots of times people get out of hand, but for the most part...we are (and I repeat myself) some sarcastic son of a bitches around here. So lets all just lighten up and have a good time...if you are gonna get upset because someone is defending a system or because they are raggin' on you or something you like....you might wanna find another place to hang....talk to "The Messiah"....anyone who gets that joke...you rock

You definitely don't have to worry about gimmick clowns that use their wittiness to derail threads. Those from Neo Geo.com should know what I mean.
