first of all, i'm not upset. second of all, i love turbo grafx, so there would be no point in defending it from my words, as i have never said anything negative about it.

third of all, do me a favor: look at your keyboard. okay, now, the letter f is located just above the letter v, correct? okay, i can't believe i'm explaining this to you, but obviously i typed gravx by accident. now, i'm not in english class. this is message board. i'm sure you have made typos as well, and ton assume that i am making fun of turbo grafx when my signature(look down, haven't you noticed?) is BRING BACK TURBO GRAFX!, spelled correctly, is absurd.

so far asleaving the board, that would be pointless, considering you are the one who overreacted, not me. also, if you had made a coment and your words got twisted around, on purpose or inadverdently, wouldn't you won't to set the record straight? does the truth or reality mean anything in this world?

look at earlier posts in this thread. somebody repeatedly called me names. i don't care about that because i'm not a five year old like the person who did it.

I was simply trying to make the point that we all need to lighten up....my entire last post was about that.... I wasn't actually trying to insult you, I was pointing out that we should all be here to have fun....I wasn't telling you to leave, I was just saying that if you feel that you have to defend yourself against people saying absurd things then you are prolly going to spend a lot of time doing that....everything is OK...all is in good humor and fun...I wasn't reacting out of anger or anything like that....I was reacting how I always do...with humor...well Sarcasm...which where I come from equates to humor.... :D

Now we can get back on topic....

AND where do you see a space betwwen turbo and grafx?  why would you make things up? is that your idea of winning an argument? just le and act like you've won. lol. and why would i put 16 after grafx when it is the name turbo grafx for a new console by NEC that i am asking for. if they made a new system it obviously wouldn't be called 16.

I was slightly disappointed by the look of the Turbografx after getting hyped up over pictures of the PC Engine from gaming mags like VG&CE and EGM. I think the original white PC Engine is one of the slickest console designs ever, but the Turbo is not bad looking in its own right (as long as you leave the cover on over the expansion port).

As for marketing...yeah, I'd agree that marketing is where the Turbo failed in North America. However, I don't think the main issue was the selection of games brought over. If you look at what titles were released in NA during the time the Turbo was viable (from 89-91) most of the good HuCards were localized. By 91 it was pretty obvious that the Turbo was not going to be a big success, especially with the pending release of the SNES. Nabbing Street Fighter II as an exclusive might have helped, but come on what were the chances of that especially in NA? It took a year for Sega to get Street Fighter on the much more successful Genesis. And Dracula X was way (way) too late to have an impact, not to mention the fact that it would have been limited to CD system owners.

If they did allow Midway to make an exclusive Mortal Kombat for the system back then, then I'm sure sales and attention would have a good incrase :) .

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

no, Lord Crack, i wasn't talking about the pc engine fx. if i wanted NEC to bring the pc-fx to the u.s., then i would have said "bring the pc-fx to the u.s. i don't like the pc-fx because every game on that system has anime charactors and i hate anime almost as much as i hate liberal humour.

what i WAS talking about was my desire to see a "brand new"( check the quotations) system made by NEC and released in the u.s., that system having the name Turbografx in its title.

obviouisly the pc-engine fx isn't a brand new system. the name turbografx didn't sound cool to most kids back in the day( as i was one of them, so i should know), but it would definately sound cool today. so, just in case you STILL don't comprehend, i want a brand new system with better grafx and innovation then the ps3, rev., and i forget what they call the new xbox. the new turbo grafx, get it? a completely new system.

MK wasn't released for the TG because it was to be an ACD game...part of NEC's plans to bring the ACD to the US. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough "pull" for a stateside launch of the ACD and the plan fell through. You can imagine the rumours that floated around for awhile about "unfinished prototype builds" of MK for the TG.

I think I mentioned this all before though...heh. :D

Well the hardware certainly would have been able to handle it, that's for sure. MKII was about twice the size of the original MK, and the 2MB of the ACD is way more than enough memory (the Sega CD handled MK just fine with a mere 768KB). Even MK3 would likely have been possible...they did the home versions on carts for cryin' out loud. :D (Speaking of which...I have the Playstation version of MK3...scary.)

I had PS1 version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I loved that series...well I didn't love it but I liked it OK...especially II. I thought that MK3 was kind of crappy, I didn't like the character direction they were taking. But I like the new guys from Ultimate MK. I liked Rain and Ermac especially. But the Ninja's were always my Fav's...Scorpion is still my favorite. Good times.....

It does make you wonder what titles theoretically could have been released for the Turbo. I mean there were a great number of cross over titles that had they been released on the Turbo prolly (probably) could have kept it in contention.

I didn't know it was going to be for Arcade Card. I was getting my source from the TZD Interview on PC Engine FX.
