i think the HuCard was the coolest thing ever created in video games. ps1 had cs's. ps2 had cs'd. ps3 will be on on cd format as well. nintendo abandoned cartridges, but that was never all that spectacular anyways.

america was not ready for the HuCard back in 1991, as turbografx was light years ahead of its time. however, now i believe tha world needs hucards because the world is fed up with these commonplace cd's. they're too freaking big! BRING BACK THE HuCard!

do you know how it felt? i was the only kid in the neigborhood with the turbografx, buying it as soon as it came out for the large pricetag, and to watch as everyone jumped on stupid sega with the stupid hedgehog game.

The HuCard has its roots in a simliar card Hudson designed for the MSX computer (I think it was referred to as a "Bee" card, but you can check www.nfggames.com to verify).

I never looked into the possible relationship between Sega SMS and Hudson's card formats, but the SMS had budget titles released on a card, but the card was not nearly as sexy as the HuCard.

Here's the link to what steve was talking about. http://nfg.2y.net/games/pce/

I think HuCards are certainly cooler looking, but CD games are a bit better gamewise, in my opinion. I would love to see a portable console these days use HuCards.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

oh yea!! i knew they reminded me of something. early in the year i was watching the x-men cartoon reruns and, wow! can't beleive i never put them together! GAMBIT, mr. munami, his bomb cards, those things look exactly like HuCards! don't even try to tell me i'm wrong! man, those things are too cool, like gambits cards.
