That's cool, but nobody wants to flip dip switches.  I hope you plan to have a menu plus hardware bank selector in order to make it more user-friendly.

nice. I hope you have a model without switches.  I would totally get one.

Very nice, but dip switches (512 possible combos!) and tiny exposed wires make my butt pucker.

woshizyt: Is it going to be able to handle Populous as well? That includes 32k of ram on the card, right after the 4mbit range of the rom.

The SF2 mapper is dead simple. If you're familiar with Famicom, it's not unlike unrom and other such simple mappers in it's simplicity. The game uses the whole lower 8mbit external address range (typical hucard range). The bottom 4mbit range is fixed to the first 4mbit of the rom, the upper 4mbit of the 8mbit hucard range is used for swapping in 512k(4mbit) banks. So it's a 4Mbit+16Mbit format. Writing any value to 'external' address range of $1ff0 to 1ff3 selects which 4Mbit segment of the 16Mbit segment gets mapped into the upper 4Mbit hucard area. So $1ff0 = bank 4Mbit #0, $1ff1 = bank 4Mbit #1, etc.

Wow, that thing is awesome.  It now just needs to be made more physically appealing, and then I will nominate for PCE product of the year 2011.

Cool idea, although I can't think of a less intuitive way of selecting games (except maybe an abacus) than a bank of dip switches.

or

"I just broke the '8' switch off my HuCARD 2010.8.... Now I'm stuck playing either Genpei Toumaden, KLAX, or Talespin.  :|"

THANKS ! I will continue research.THIS card don't include 32K of ram .so Polulous perhaps coundn't run. This card have a CPLD .and the mapper logic can add convenience.
The SF2 mapper logic block diagram could be this, right?

by the way ,is it possible add a save ram chip into this card?I buy a TENNOKOE BANK 2 ,find inside have a HU6260 chip and a SRAM.
I couldn't know how HU6260 chip work .
