Saving your game

I was playing throughPC Kid 2 yesterday, got to stage 4, and then left it on while I went out, and got back to it about 4-5 hours later. There has to be a better way of doing things, but I don't know about the various options.

AFAIK, there are ~4 different options:
Tannenoki Bank
Memory base 128
Shuttle backup unit
CD ROM units I believe have some kind of memory for saves?

How do all these things work?  Are they only for games that support saves?

Games have to be programmed to use the save devices. 
Though there is something called a "Save-kun" which I think
can work with any game from what I've heard.

err... a bit bizarre I'm seeming like a sales man today lol.. but I have a few saving options for sale if you're interested.

boxed mint - save kun
I think a boxed mint Memory base 128
and I think a spare boxed Tennokoe Bank HuCard

will have to check though

The Save Kun sounds interesting.  That might be the best option.

Nope, games have to be programmed to use it (it's Koei's version of the Memory Base 128).

What about a Tennokoe Bank 2, I've never actually owned one of those so I'm not sure how they work?

they work, but only for very few deticated games with save function. most games only support score saving, that's it.

The Ten no Koe, Ten no Koe 2, and Backup Booster are hardware attachments that go on the back and allow saving.
The Ten no Koe Bank is the card that saves 4 boosters' worth of backup memory.

There is no Ten no Koe Bank 2...

Still...  Suprised how few games use it.  How did people complete Ys I and II?  Leave the console on for a week?

There's also the Saving Kun that connects via the controller port instead of the expansion port. I think that's for instances like if you are already using the AV Booster on a white pce so the expansion port is already taken so you can use the Saving Kun instead of the Tennokoe

The CD-ROM unit contains backup RAM too (same as the Backup Booster/Ten no Koe) so all CD games can use save memory if they want to.
