I have been listening to these tracks whilst doing chores. I am liking them even more now, after repeated listens. My original verdict, however, remains unchanged.
Thanks for posting this. You should feed your cats more often!
Seriously. The only reason I go into the basement is for (a) cats, or (b) laundry. It should come as no surprise that these are the only times when I am inspired to rotate some fresh new games into my playlist and put some games back into storage. I don't have enough room to keep all my consoles/libraries out, all the time.
Otherwise, I just keep playing whatever happens to be in the immediate vicinity of the guest room (aka video game sanctuary).
I listened to a couple of them and found them rather... crappy. I dunno. They didn't do anything for me at all.
That's because you have to listen to "TurnOn" again and bask in the glory of alternating saxo-oboe & guitar greatness. Goddamn, spenoza, get with the program
.
Don't worry, though: I have to prescribe the same advice to nat, who, inexplicably, does not agree with me either! Goddamn philistines!
I just listened to the three sample tracks, and I have to say, that Track 6 (Taking Off~Sole Warrior~Progression) is the standout for me. A medley of the first three stage themes remixed, it's a pretty powerful piece as presented here.
Obviously, see my comment to spenoza above. You are cleary mistaken. The only standout track is TurnOn!
Anyway, about Track 6: It's starts off in a promising manner, but then, as I say, gets uber schmaltzy (with the chorus/refrain) for the last 2/3 of the medley.
The good news is that I am in the mood right now an overly theatrical rendition of these songs, so I certainly am digging it. BUT, that said, the stand out is clearly "TurnOn" (I'm glad you've come to your senses and now agree with me on this point).
