Too many games Expo May 6th - 8th
« on: March 26, 2011, 09:39:33 AM »
Since there has been so much talk of the Midwest gaming classic, Is anyone going to the too many games expo in the Philadelphia PA area?

Here is the website. Its usually not very large although they have moved it to a larger forum this year so maybe they are planning on a larger turnout.

It would only be ~2 hour drive, so I might go.

I have to see if I already have a commitment on May 7 or 8.

I'll keep my eye on this thread, I am always down for a con. Better than NEC in cold ass January. Philly does have some odd beer rules, bur if you plan ahead you're good.

I don't think I can afford more than two cons per year. :(

Yea Mad Gear is annoying and so damn unfriendly. The rules surrounding alcohol in this state are beyond ridiculous.

The rules surrounding alcohol in this state are beyond ridiculous.

???
"Beer may only be purchased from a restaurant, bar, licensed beer store, or distributor. Beer distributors mainly sell cases and kegs of beer, not smaller volumes of beer such as six packs. Six and twelve packs, along with individual bottles such as 40 ounce or 24 ounce beers, are sold at bars, restaurants, and licensed retailers. A consumer is limited to 192[1] ounces of beer per purchase. For larger quantities one must go to a beverage distributor which sells beer only by the case or keg. Beverage distributors (which also sell soft drinks) may sell beer and malt liquor, but not wine or hard liquor. Unlike the Wine and Spirits shops, people under 21 may enter most beverage distributors without an adult, subject to the rules of the individual establishment."

Basically, you can't goto the Stop-n-Shop and get a forty at 1am. As long as you plan ahead, you can have a good night. Else, you're dropping $$$ at a bar.

The Turbofesters and I had little trouble be-friending MadGear. Once he realized who we were he warmed up a little.
