Hardest PCE game that you HAVE beaten???

For me, it was Rayxanber II. Took me several tries, But managed to beat it.
The turbo fire didn't work in Level 4, So i had to reply on my enemy dodging skills.

The hardest game for me to beat was probably silent debuggers.  Because of the f*cking time limit.

Probably Aldynes. And only because of the last boss. Just something about 'im that gave me problems (I didn't know about the safe spot back then).

Gradius II was a bastard of a game. I just kept choking on it.

I also had a very tough time beating Armed Formation F (which is enjoyable, by the way, if you dig old skool shoot-em-ups).

I beat magical chase on PCE.... the only other game I've beaten is Ys 1/2 which i thought was a bit easier than MC

For the longest time I could not figure out how to use the items stashed at the bottom of the screen in Magical Chase. Once I did, that made one heck of a difference. Sadly, this is the only shmup I've beaten on T-16/PCE.

I thought Ys I was pretty tough if you play it without FAQs. I always found myself disoriented in that one dark cave and the mirror maze in darm tower. And also knowing where some of those key items were located wasn't always straightforward (ie roda seed and silver harmonica). Ys II can be tough if you are not leveled up properly.

my biggest problem with aldynes is I start getting into the music, head banging and bobbing around, and then I crash into shit and die.

Dude the last level in Gradius 2 is hell.

Gaijin protected RPGs were probably the most difficult. Otherwise, Night Creatures is pretty much impossible until you figure out the correct path through the game which has very little leeway.

I found Ys III pretty hard, but only because I didn't spend enough time grinding levels. Also, I think Legendary Axe 1 is pretty hard and I managed to beat it. Never did beat Keith Courage, though.
