Hi, Moonie.  If your PCE Core II has RGB output already, then even when it's connected to a CD-ROM unit, it'll keep outputting RGB just fine.  Where is the RGB output?  A jack on one of the sides?  If so, then you need a rear-attaching Super CD-ROM2 unit, not the old briefcase unit which may prevent access to the RGB jack.

That's a good point, but also, depending on the size and shape of the RGB socket, it may also be inacessable through the hole in the SCD.

The RGB output is through the original AV out din socket.
