Burning games to CD-R
« on: April 03, 2011, 07:37:42 AM »
I am an idiot when it comes to this. I'd really like to play Snatcher sometime, and the Xanadu II translation if/when that happens. Can someone please post a short ISO burning for dummies post please! I tried to burn Snatcher already but I had no luck in getting it to work.

If it's in ISO format, ya can't beat ImgBurn.
http://www.imgburn.com/

Free, lightweight, and simple. Insert CD-R into CD drive, launch ImgBurn, point it to the ISO, and hit Burn.

I can't even get my Genesis emulator to play Sega CD games.

Mathius, what files did your Snatcher file come with? If it came with just the ISO and a .cue file, all you have to do is select is the .cue file to burn with software such as Nero and that should do it. But if the Snatcher ISO comes with mp3s and .wav files, then that complicates the process of creating a burnable CD that will work on a console.

SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

Because emulation is masturbation.

I'll let that turd slide since you're an Opeth fan.

Yeah, I am not too hot on emulation either. That's why I made this thread.

That would rock my socks off!

I think it's the latter. If I can find the former I don't burn the ISO with it??? Now I am extra confused!

Agreed. But, all I want CD-Rs for is games that are out of my league price wise, and patched games.

For something like English patched Ys IV I'd recommend using an emulator

Because of the laser issue?

Does the Sega CD have similar problems?

Mathius, you should look for a download file that has just an iso and .cue file. That way the .wavs and mp3 files are already incorporated into the ISO.

Most rom sites just have an ISO for the data tracks, not the music and sound files. I am not sure how to combine these elements.

Thanks for the info!

BTW- Have you made a thread concerning VGS in July??? Might be a good idea.

I will have a thread coming up for sure, I was just making some last minute edits before posting. Probably sometime within the next couple of days.  :)
