Huh, I though it was some random screw...  Do the ports outpout sound in the first place?

It looks home-made anyway...

I queried the seller but he didn't know what they're for.

Interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if it was for plugging a home made stick into it (ie: rather than sacrifice a pad for the PCB, keep it functional and usable).

Not sure about the think that looks like a headphone jack though. It would be nice if the guy would open it up.

Why would anyone plug their headphones into their controller ?

Wouldn't it very easily rip the cord during operation /a round of Tatsujin ?

I was thinking about doing this with a pad actually. You could hack the controller for use in a cab or diy joystick box and then still use it in the system. If you do this with multiple systems you could just quickly connect them with a DIN cable

I can't think of a better place.

Maybe if you are some kind of wild animal with no self control, but if are at least responsible/sane enough to, say, hold down a job at Taco Bell, I think one's headphone cables would survive.

Or, you could hack one controller from each of the 'older' systems like this, and build an arcade-style joystick that had a db9 for the connector. Then you could use it on any of your other systems, by plugging it into the hacked controllers :-)

I have a Elecom JC100 JOYCARD for MSX.  Two of em actually.

They're pretty nice little f*ckers. but the cord comes out the left side, so that is retarded.

It used to be a NES controller but now it is a fully functional Turbo Duo/PCE controller with headphone jack and custom "Bee-otch" label.
