Pc engine Duo region chipped?

Who might they be?   There are a few region modding solutions available.  Depending on how handy with a soldering iron you are, you could consider tackling them yourself.  One guy on here, electrochip sells premade region mod PCBs that are relatively easy to install.  Though I pm'd him recently and havent got an answer back yet.

It shouldn't add more than maybe $30 to the cost of a system IMO.  Some guys have charged $60+ to do a region mod though.  I haven't seen too many modded systems up for sale, so I cant give you a good idea on the prices they tend to fetch.

I do region mod systems but Im a little behind on repairs at the moment so it might be a few months before I can fit another one in.

The Sailormoon titles?  Theres more than one on the PCE?  The only one I am aware of is a Super CD game, which is able to be played on any Super CD system US or otherwise.

There's the digital comic and a collection disc with some mini games, but I'm betting he wants the unofficial fap disc.  Who wouldn't?

If you don't have any system at all yet then its not a matter of what the good imports are, its a matter of what good US games there are. Of about 700 games released in Japan, about 130 of those came out here in the US. There are very few US exclusives and only a couple of those are even playable. On top of that, the CD games aren't region locked.

What you want, is a Duo R.

A Duo R with an Arcade Card can play everything except 5/6 SGX games that few people give a shit about and US HuCards. The only US HuCards you should care about would be the text heavy ones. There are only a small few text heavy US HuCards and you might not even care about those. Neutopia, Order of the Griffon, Neutopia 2, that's pretty much it. The majority of the games that were released in HuCard in both regions either have very little text, no text, or had English text even in their Japanese release.

Unless you are the collector type or have some weird nostalgia for shitty covers, you can pretty much just forget the TG-16 ever even happened. Its about as relevant as the Japanese version of the Atari Jaguar, or American versions of Renault automobiles.

i personally like the look of TG16 better BUT i do want Duo R so i can play ther other games to so oh well. i used to have a TG16 and about 7 games DEad moon neutopia 1 keith battle royale but i got conned when i was young  and this guy was like oh i really wanted to have that badly yadda  yadda i wasnt playing it much  anymore so i sold him  deal for 60 bucks turned around it was in a video game shop for 200 bucks lol.

so lessoon learnd. now i gotta rebuy everything lol. like i said i never got chance to play CDs games back then so... once i get some money im def gonna get the Duo-R with modded chip

Seriously tho, get some kind of Duo (Duo/ Duo R) get it region modded or pick up some Chopado's to play all the Hueys.  There are great deals to be found for both US and Imports.

I had a lot more fun playing through Dungeon Explorer in English as opposed to playing the import.  Same with many other TurboChips.  Just keep your eyes open!!

eBay seller "Doujindance" sells Duo-R's region modded, RGB modded, and with new CD lasers for $200, which is a friggen steal.  Shipping is $70 because it's global express mail, but that can't be helped.  Plus that way you get the system in about a week.  Even though it is RGB modded, he still also includes normal AV cables, but the RGB option is nice to have in case you get a SCART -> component converter at some point.  The turbo looks great in RGB.  He even threw in a free Duo-RX pad along with the normal Duo-R controller when he sent mine, and those aren't cheap.

With that system you can play everything from both regions except Arcade discs and SGX cards.  A Japanese Arcade Card Pro can be had for about $30, so if you get that the system will play everything except Super Grafx games.
