Welcome, roflmao.

I got into tg-16 when it launched. I was on TurboList back in the day but I didn't trade/sell/buy (I wasn't interested at the time). I casually read the digests when I had free time, but I remember frequently deleting a lot of stuff without ever reading it. My priority wasn't tg-16 at the time of TurboList's heyday, it seems.

I am Nintendo collector mostly. When I finished that set, I moved onto the 32X and discoverd a few new games and had a blast with them. I then decided to focus on colleciting sets, because it let me find all the obscure and under appreciated games in the library. The N64 and the Master System are teh next on my list. But then I played a tg-16 emulator and it was all over. I had to play for of that system.

Well i got my PCE a year or 2 ago and I have been enjoying the system ever since. I recently decided to make the plunge for the Hu set, and hope I can do it for a reasonable price. I have come to LOVE Parasol Stars and Blazing Lazers.

Was anyone here a member of the Prodigy community back in the early 90's? There were a handful of TG-16/PCE fans on there back in the day and I used to answer easy questions, but I loved asking 1-2 gurus tons of questions. I've mentioned Prodigy before, but I never find anyone who actually used it.

Wow, I haven't thought of Prodigy in forever. I had friends on Prodigy but I was a Compuserve user for a while, then became an AOL user.

Was anyone here a member of the Prodigy community back in the early 90's? There were a handful of TG-16/PCE fans on there back in the day and I used to answer easy questions, but I loved asking 1-2 gurus tons of questions. I've mentioned Prodigy before, but I never find anyone who actually used it.

Wow...I was part of that back in high school. Jesus that is going back. I used to get on from school and get in trouble for not doing my work in computer science. A buddy and I made a Turbo Pascal program that was a basic text RPG for a project. Teacher was pissed that "weren't taking it seriously" and gave us low grades. It was then that I started getting on Prodigy and giving my finger to the class haha!

I remember being excited to talk about the TG-16 and how cool it was despite not owning a big library of games at that point.

i got into the TG16 when it was first released in high school.
never had the cash for most upgrades/extras.
started getting broken ones and repairing them not long after.

When I was in computer science, not a single computer was online. The lab was a sea of Apple IIGS. I remember Turbo Pascal for class assignments, but I spent all my time writing games/demos in BASIC. My brother did the art (on graph paper! With a limited color palette!) and I would spend all my free time on the computer.

I wish I still had the program printouts, or his original art, or anything from back then.

Back to Prodigy...I was lucky enough to find folks who very knowledgeable in the topics I was interested in, which included:

1) music / music zines
2) "counter culture" zines
3) tg-16
4) what is college like? life after high school? -questions ha!

I used Prodigy to find information on my favorite bands of the time, Faith No More and Queensryche. Wow...so long ago.

I got into the TG16 in 1990 when I saw it on display in Radio Shack. Keith Courage actually impressed me at the time for a pack-in. My best friend (a huge Sega fan) begged me to get a Genesis instead, and would trash-talk the Turbo any chance he got. Actually, our friendship never really recovered from my TG16 purchase - it's amazing how seriously some of us took gaming in that era!

The few people I knew who had a Turbografx never bothered with the CDs and eventually moved on to the Genesis or SNES.  Luckily I stuck with it and got the Express, Duo and most of the games when they came out, including Dynastic Hero (but not Magical Chase unfortunately). I'm surprised that there are so many fans for this system now and that the games are so insanely expensive.  Stores could barely give this stuff away back in the day.

Anyways, I recently pulled out my collection after 15 years in storage. I also can't wait to play all the PC Engine imports that I had no easy way of getting back then (Neo Nectaris, Valis IV, Motoroader II, Ys IV, Rondo, etc.) Damn I love this system!

Iam new to the site and looking foward to being part of the community!I found out about you guys threw Racketboys Turbo/PCE guides and happy to know theres a faithful solid community to learn and enjoy my Turbo/PCE.I have a massive passion for Retro gaming,and TG-16/duo hold high on my list for enjoyment.I currently own many great games for the systems (Now playing Beyond Shadowgate and Valis II).I would like to thank Pcenginefx for having a place to call home when you cant get enough info on the console we love so much.The compatibility charts/guides help a bunch when it came to deciding which Pcengine to get.I now own a TG16 and pcengine duo and proud of it.See you guys around
