and nodvedeit, can u please get rid of that picture, it looks like a molested child.

Is this one better? You know...for a supposed TG nut, you sure don't know a whole lot about it OR its games...

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

yea, i have no qualms with that pic. as that dragon ball z look, which i don't care for, but it doesn't bother me to see it. and i never claimed to be a turbografx nut, i'm a huge fan of the concept of the console more than anything.

and so it appears no system to date is able to do this. how ironic if i were to run into the kid who told me about this. of course, he'd say he doesn't know what i'm talking about and that he has no interest in turbo grafx. but until now, i was always under the impression that one of the turbo grafx systems, whether it be the cd, express or duo, allowed the gamer to play a game while listening to whatever music they wanted.

man, i remember it specifically!

I remember it too- in fact I did it a few weeks ago... on the Xbox- you can copy a cd to the harddrive.  I can see how you got the NEC and Microsoft systems confused... or maybe the kid who did this looked like a molested child.

the kid told me this back in 91', 92', so i don't believe it was x-box, as they did not have a system back then. no, he didn't look like a molested child either, he was a cool kid.

In answer to your original question, you can do exactly what you are describing with some Playstation games. Ridge Racer would be an example of such a game.  Are you sure it wasn't Playstation your molested child friend had?

Edit: On a side note, in the game CD Battle for PC Engine you open the lid and place a regular cd in which, depending on the cd, changes your battle characters stats and such. Many more games like this would come out later for the Playstation also.

i'm done with this stupid board. to try and twist my words again, trying to make it look like i had a friend who was sexually molested. and you think that's funny? that's liberal humour, the crap you see on immoral tv programs, the crap u see in video games shouldn't b playing. that's the type of kids you are, the type that will find some little mexican boy being molested funny. that's the problem with games like grand theft auto, they don't make kids go out and peform acts of violence, but invigorates their desire to see violence and things of that nature. you wanna be fagets, f*ck you! THAT'S PROBLY WHY YOU FAGS ARE INTO ANIME, YOU PROBLY ALL  love the idea of children being molested. all those charactors look like michael jackson as it is, where's their nose?

AND LIKE I REALLY WANNA PLAY  RIDGE RACER!

and to make jokes when you could have simply honelst answered my question. and why? because i want to use the option to shut off the music means i don't like turbografx music?

I think you just have a hard time understanding us and not realizing what we're actually trying to say. We're not trying to make our posts sound like they are discriminating in any sort of way, especially the sarcastic ones.

awwww, I sure am sorry you couldn't stay for a while. :(  Really if your taking life that serious....your living tooooo hard. I warned you of our humor around here and while I hate to see that it didn't work out for you (seriously) its probably better that you didn't stay. I mean I wouldn't want to see you coming into one of these threads packing heat and then someone would mess around and get shot (that part....a joke...see).

We didn't start the whole "molested child" line of jokes, thats all on you.

Also again, I think your question was answered seriously, atleast once and reinforced several times by other comments...your insistence that we were all in someway wrong really allowed this thread to get to the point its has gotten too....So there is really no need for the overreaction and name calling...I mean some people get very insulted by name calling. I recall in another thread that a guy, cant remember who it was, got very upset because someone was calling him names   .

We all don't hate you, and don't take any of the sarcasm to heart. This forum is not meant for insulting other members. It's just impolite when you told Nod to remove his avatar only because you dislike the picture. This is an informal message board, where everyone can be themselves and discuss anything pce/tg16 related. But please, if you have something personal about a member then settle it outside with PM or email.

??? The term "liberal humour" is off-base and doesn't make any sense. As for the rest of your post: your homophobic fantasies and hate speech are not welcome here.  Please act like an 8 year old, at least,  and show some common courtesy.

And to think, this all began because of your perversions.  You saw nodtveidt's avatar and created your own fantasy from it -- for you, it was an image of a child being molested. I am sorry you see things that way, but your obsession with child porn and homophobia are not welcome here.
