Wanted: RGB/S-Video and Region Mod for Supergrafx + Super CDRom2 Setup

After years of resisting I finally took the plunge and picked up a Supergrafx at this year's Midwest Gaming Classic. I've since picked up a loose Super CDROM2 off of eBay which is en route from Japan.

I've read up a bit about modding the PC-Engine graphics chips to output RGB and subsequently to wire it into S-Video/Etc. I read somewhere that if you're using the System + external CDROM setup it's better to mod the CDROM attachment (correct me if I'm wrong) since you then attached that CDROM unit to any other base and reap the benefits. is that correct?

That being said - is there anyone on the boards in the U.S. who does the S-Video mod and/or the region mod? Willing to pay cash of course.

As a side note - my primary gaming tv is a Sony HD CRT (27") that has s-vid but also component and displays an amazing SD picture. I'm shooting for S-Video but i'm not sure if i'd be better suited doing RGB -> YUV with a converter...not sure what kind of hardware I'd need to convert/amplify the signal - anyone have experience doing that?

RGB -> YUV with a converter

I recommend this over s video - rgb is the way to go!

RGB is better than s-video...but only if you can actually use it. The RGB from a PCE needs to be amplified and transcoded or upscaled to use with his TV
 

Also, depending on the encoder and the TV, s-video really can be extremely close to RGB in quality.

I'd honestly be happy with either. I've got an s-video modded genesis2/scd combo and it looks fantastic.

I'm comfortable tapping the RGB leads off of the chip, I'm just not quite good enough to construct the amplifier circuit from diagram and tying everything together, hence needing the help.

im working on doing an rgb mod myself, once its all done and tested and i feel comfortable building the amp i can make you one. thing is i don't know how long you want to wait. I'm hoping to have mine finished sometime next week though.
