I just saw this to.  I was shocked! I don't own the game so I can't comment, but wow another $100+ game I dont' have.  I hope it was the exception not the rule.
Gypsies did it.

Geez! The value of turbo games just keeps rising. A cibler Air Zonk recently sold for $132.50, and that game is on ebay all the time. http://cgi.ebay.com/Air-Zonk-TurboGrafx-16-1992-/250800776154?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3a64e423da

Although Soldier Blade is harder to find, it is not worth anywhere near as much as the $260+ it sold for. I picked up my (US) Soldier Blade with manual and blank T-16 case for about $40 at a retro-gaming shop in Chicago a couple of months ago which I thought was a decent deal.

SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

  Good grief man!  I think I paid $50 for mine without the box.  It seems that turbo stuff is destined to be overpriced :(

No, it ain't worth anywhere near that much.  I think eBay is currently overrun by foolish twats with tax refund checks in hand, so the price will drop back to 'normal' in a month or so.

Holy cow!  I love that game, but $130+?!  That's just crazy!

I'm rapidly losing patience with the recent crop of NEC noobs.
Exile 2 sold for $167 today.

This seems like a situation where one person said "I HAVE TO HAVE SOLDIER BLADE, but I'm too lazy to snipe it. I'll put some astro amount of money out as my max bid to ensure I get it" and someone else had a similar mentality.

Geez, and I've been too cheap to drop $50 on the PCE version. I guess I'm just not a playah.

$260...dang, WTF?

I think a lot of that fellow's auctions went for such high amounts because they were clean copies that had the boxes. The boxes certainly can add a big premium. I think for those who want to play the game, a loose cart or cart+manual can still be had at a reasonable price. Heck, I sold a complete boxed copy for about $67 or so on ebay within the past year if I recall...

These auctions really make those custom cases all that more attractive as an option for those who still want a complete look to their collection but don't necessarily care about the cardboard boxes....

I want a complete copy, but once it went beyond $100 (which was early), I moved on.

His complete in box Shockman also went for a huge amount.  Almost $140.
