Here's a Polaroidâ„¢ photo of me on my rad BMX bike doing some rad trixx back in the 80's:

Awesome.

I never had a BMX. I had a Schwinn Stingray. This was not kool. Everyone had a BMX. Stingray was considered lame (well, it was hard to overcome the whole "banana seat" thing).

Later, I graduated to a Schwinn Typhoon. It's banana seat failed to impress folks.

At least my parents saved money.

I always wanted to be really good at skateboarding and BMX'ing. Being near a half pipe was pretty damn intimidating despite how pumped up it made me after watching "Thrashin" and "Rad"

Lol - you had "mag" wheels. They looked cool, but they were always heavier. I always wanted me bike to be lighter, so I could go faster, get higher/more air time, etc.

The car is indeed moving!  Here is the original picture:

Tom - Yeah that was during my early BMX days.  I went from spokes to tricking it out with heavier stuff like mag wheels and a friggin' number plate.  I eventually replaced the frame and fork with Hutch products and changed the wheels to spoke alloys.  The seat became a fiberglass model for improved lightness, lightweight 3-piece cranks were installed, CW handlebars were put on, the numberplate came off and I lost 3 pounds.  I was a total backflippin' lightweight bad ass.

I still have the bike.

God damn I miss the 80s. The days of my childhood & a carefree life. I did a lot of biking when I was a kid, too. It seems like only yesterday....

Ha! I should have noticed the shadow was too 'neat' in the first one.

BMX had nothing on the Schwinn Typhoon.

The Typhoon was a mere 150lbs after I washed off the dust and stripped it down.

I was a lamer who didn't learn to ride a bicycle until I was 10. (gravel roads are kinda hard to ride on.)

Man, I loved BMX/Freestyle bikes as a kid.

Getting copies of BMX Plus! in the mailbox was one of my great childhood joys.

I loved BMXing.  Used to have a couple Redline's and GT's.  My bro preferred the Generals.  Generals were damn heavy bikes, but were very well built.
