Duo RX powerless

Greetz PC Engine Friends, my duo rx has no power. Would someone have any suggestions on how to repair this? I know it sounds a bit lame, and i tried searching fotr solutions on the repair guides posted on the forums here; but still didn`t find a solution...could be that i haven`t looked intensively tho`.
So if someone could give me a headz up to where or who i could ask for advice regarding the matter...would be greatly appreciated.

Did you verify the AC Adapter was good?  Use a multimeter or a 12v light bulb to make sure there is power coming out of the AC adapter before you jump to blaming the duo.  rule out the easy stuff.

Did you make sure the wall outlet had power too?  Dumb question i know but i have seen it before!

Thanks for the reply man. I tried to power it up using another adapter (from the megadrive) as it had the same specifications, and still no power...i`m still searching for a good multimeter tho`, so i could really check it up. The fuse looks different from the duo r`s, so i`m still researching on the matter. Could just be a blown fuse...
The voltage output here is 220-230 V, which could be a factor for bustin`up the duo. I have used a step-down converter for it, but still has a 10-20 V difference in the step-down conversion.

as long as the input voltage to the AC adapter is 113-127v it will work as designed.  Hell you might be able to go as low as 110v and still get it to work.  Legal limits here in the various states is 113v-127v I work for the power company here in the midwest US area.  

If your convertor failed....well then you may have damaged both your ac power supplies.

Take the fuse and check it with a battery/lightbulb and pice of wire to see if it conducts power through it.  Or you can check it with a multimeter on the Ohms setting for conductivity.

Where are you that your on a 240V system?  (US is a 120/240V system and to my knowledge so are other countries)  I wont go into that since its going to lead us way off topic.  Nevermind I see your in the Alps!  Which means you are on a 50HZ 240V system if i recall.  

What Duo do you have exactly and what power supply are you using.  Since you mentioned a step down transformer I take it you have a US or Japanese Duo?  Your nominal voltage is 240V where you live.  230V is more like a common reference point due to voltage drop.  You def want to check you step down transformer/power supply to make sure it is still outputing 120v (+/- 7v) to make sure your giving the Duo AC supply proper voltage.

If your power supply failed and started outputting high voltage to the Duo Power supply your probably looking at 2 AC power supplies you just ruined.  I hope thats all it is.  Start checking there.

Well yeah, its a Duo RX that i have and it`s powered by the PAD-129 which came with it in the box. I used the step-down converter to drop down the voltage to 120V +/- because here in swiss is as you mentioned with a 230V 50Hz system. The duo rx needs 100V as that would be the Jap. voltage system.
I bought the machine from a HK shop some 8yrs. ago (second hand) and was running smoothly until last year when it powered out.
I`d check on those points you mentioned and post the results...if any.

If you've eliminated the AC Adapter as the cause, best bets are going to be the fuse or the 7805 voltage regulators.  (duo uses a pair of 'em)  You can use a meter to test them.  You should see ~12v coming in, and ~5v going out.  They're pretty cheap and easy to swap out if they seem to be misbehaving.  ;-)
