I need a new game! suggestions?

well, i've done it.
I beat every game i have that i can realistically think i'm gonna ever beat
I have no real idea what game i should get next, so here's what i have and liked:
splatterhouse
Ys 1,2,3
gate of thunder 3 in 1
lords of thunder
super raiden
legendary axe
dracula x
splash lake
alien crush
Ai Cho Aniki (probably my favorite)

any suggestions? preferrably no $50 + games.

I LOVE Super Raiden, Lot, & Got.  Cotton would be my next recommendation (PCE version is $30-40).

As you seem to like sidescrollers with a dark atmosphere (LA, Drac X, Splatterhouse), I'd recommend Shapeshifter or Cadash.

If you want more RPG elements, Exile 1 is cheap, has awesome music, and doesn't take long to beat.

I like The Lost Sunheart. Its an oddball shmup like Cho Aniki.

If you liked splash lake, try doraemon meikyuudaisakusen or batman. If you liked ai cho aniki try jj and jeff or kato and ken. If you want to get your ass kicked and have a blast at the same time, try image fight. If you want to splurge on something fun, try popful mail.

Ys IV, LoXII and Xak I & II are Ys style games that are reasonable to beat if you don't speak Japanese.

well, there are cheap copies of shapeshifter and override on ebay right now, both of which i've heard good things about, so i think i'll try for those.
what's a fair price on them, i did see a copy of shapeshifter go for like $6 a month or two ago.

every once in a blue a moon a copy pops up for less than 50 and PC Denjin usually sells for under 50
