Dilemma: Cotton or Terraforming!?

Yeah, I like Rainbow Cotton too.  It's funny that the forced centering gets so much grief when Panorama Cotton has the same thing, and that game gets praised (though it is a cool game too).

I've seen videos for Rainbow Cotton and although it looks like it has it's control flaws, it looks like a game that I would enjoy.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Yeah I noticed that too in Panorama.  Honestly I like Rainbow Cotton more than Panorama just because it's easier to judge where things are with 3D graphics over the old Space Harrier style scaling.  Panorama I think just gets praised since it's so rare and has some super killer graphics for 16-bit, same as that Yu Yu Hakusho game by Treasure which is just ok but has awesome graphics.

I like Panorama better because it doesn't have the ass-bad centering of Rainbow Cotton, but both games are actually pretty cool.

Oh yeah, and Cotton Boomerang on Sat is incredible.

Panorama isn't so great to me. It can be hard to hit enemies (and see them as GUTS said) and I think it would have some slowdown at points. The look of the game is great, but I don't think it's all that fun. Space Harrier kills it for sure.

Panorama can actually be played in 3 different speeds, and on the slowest one hitting enemies and dodging is a breeze.  I'm not sure how people can adequately play the game on max speed though.

I guess I should clarify that when I said I got I had just paid for it. I haven't actually got it in my hands yet though I'm sure it will be cool. The only other Cotton games I actually own is 2 and Boomerang on the Saturn. I don't have Panorama or Rainbow Cotton. Even if its not as cool as Boomerang or 2, which it seems most agree upon, its still going to be cool. My only regret is that I had been bitten by the collectors bug beforehand and had to get the English verison for some reason even though the Japanese one isn't different. It reasons like these that I'm always broke.

Although i find Cotton WAY better on the X68000 or in the arcades, it's STILL a better game on the DUO than Terraforming. Terraforming is fancy graphics, and fast scrolling, but it's bland, and the last boss makes you wanna throw your turbostick down your throat sideways!
