I have recently gotten into the PC engine scene by buying a TurboGrafx and was wondering if anyone had a TurboDuo or TurboGrafx CD for sale and what is reasonable price to pay for one, probably can't afford one right know but was wondering what a good price would be for one and if any one did have one for sale, might get on this Christmas so it is not a buy now thing, just seeing how often they come up and for what price. Thanks for your time. I hope this is in the right section.
Also TurboDuo or Duo-R

EDIT: I should probably mention that I already have a HU-Card Converter for my Turbo.

A Turbo Duo would be redundant for playing US hu cards (since you already have a TG16) and only adds the CD capability. The Duo-R would be the better choice since you could play import hu cards and CD games too. Bi-winning!

I also think the Duo-R/RX is the better choice as availability and price will be better.  It looks like a stock Duo-R is going for about $230 US at places like genkivideogames.com, but I suspect you'd get a better price here on the forums.  A couple months ago I got a region modded Duo-R with several games for $250 (if memory serves).  If no-one on the forum is parting with them presently Gamedude.com seems to have better-than-ebay prices on TurboDuos... but then again they seldom have them in stock.

Probably someone else here will have better shopping suggestions!

that seems like a good deal compared to ebay, the only thing I would be worried about is shipping. I currently live in Indiana so I would probably use EMS shipping, do they offer that. how much would it cost.

Just wondering what is the main difference between a Duo-R and a Duo-R/X.

Color scheme (white vs gray) and the RX had a different six button pad with it.  (Almost identical to the pc-fx pad)

$150 is not a bargain.  There are two Duo-Rs on ebay right now for $150 and those are Buy It Now's just sitting there (never the sign of an exceptional deal).  Wait for an actual auction or a lot with games and easy to do even better.

As for Turbo Duo's, they're only worth $150.  Of course, their prices on ebay have gone out of control and now $200 gets you a banged-up, "untested" (read: broken) deck without the hucard door.

Get a Duo-R.

EDIT:  and maybe keep your eye out for a TurboBooster Plus or a CD-less CD-ROM interface so you can save your Turbochip games. A TB Plus is expensive by itself ($60-90) but I've seen them included in lots with a TG deck and a bunch of games closing at $100.  A lone CD-ROM interface was $50-80 last I checked.

I never said it was a bargain, i just said it was the cheapest i have seen a RX for right now. Of course waiting for an auction can be good, I think the best is buying from the forum. The only thing with that is it can take a while for what you want to pop up, but you can save money. It all depends on your speed. There are ways of getting it now, but you pay a premium, or wait it out, and save money. You just don't know how long you will have to wait.

As long as you get what you want, in the time frame you want it in; is thats all that matters.
