PC Engine Homebrew page on Facebook
« on: June 06, 2011, 06:35:23 AM »
I've created a fan page for on Facebook.

The idea is to have this as an easy news reference for the various homebrew projects, past, present and future - anyone who has a project on the go is welcome to create and album to post screenshots or just post progress reports (which I can repost as admin to allow all subscribers to see it in their news feeds).

I just need to work out why the discussion boards aren't showing up now  :|

It feels like PCE Homebrew is beginning to pick up some speed, let's keep the momentum going!

link to the Aetherbyte page, where I post updates!

and yes, things are picking up!  Aetherbyte's going to rock the CCAG so hard.

also, maybe make me an admin and crap since I live on Facebook.  I can assist.

Before I throw admin rights around we should all try to agree on the best way to use the page.

I've created several threads in the discussion area. Each is clearly labelled as either PROJECT: or AVAILABLE NOW:
If anyone makes a new project thread it would be best to keep to that formula.

As the page, I've 'liked' Aetherbyte, but I can't like Frozen Utopia because it's a group (groups are pretty crappy in Facebook, you should consider changing to a fan page).

Would the leaders of the various dev groups feel it was advantageous if they were also admins on the page? Posting as an admin will send the status update to everyone's news feeds, whereas posting normally will not. As long as noone makes a big mess of the page, I think this is an option.

Anyone is free to post images of their projects, make a new album etc. As I'm personally involved with several projects, I'll only post what has been announced or shown in other places, like these forums etc.

I've created a thread to list developer homepages/blogs etc in. I've not added any, so if you want people to know, pop along and put in your details.

I don't see the need for everyone to be an admin, including myself, if youare active enough on FB to admin the thing yourself.  Theres not much to those things really.

As long as we're liked/joined/can post stuff, it shouldnt matter much.

I just kinda sit on facebook all day while I do other stuff, so if you need a hand, thats my offer. :D

hopefully this helps kick things up more

Thinking about it, there is a definite advantage to developers NOT having admin rights, because as long as you have a fan page, you can browse Facebook as your page (i.e. Aetherbyte) and post updates using that identity.

I'm going to create a page for Frozen Utopia, but first I have to close the group for it, which means booting everyone out of it. :)

EDIT: Here ya go :)

Bah, & I was a moderator & everything, I'm leaving FU :D

Anyhoo, I see you listed some games that I don't think people generally knew about, but also left out a couple, which is fine with me.  I want my pet projects to be on the downlow, with one in particular that is my absolute labor of love

I've not added everything yet and I'll continue to put things up there bit by bit, but only if they are already officially on some website or forum somewhere.
